Well, 2021 was a tough year for all of us. But as we began it unable to open TASC and ended it together, having fun – that seems like progress!
Here at TASC it has been a pleasure to care for all the children in our clubs. It was particularly fun to re-open our Holiday Clubs. The Summer and October breaks gave us some real highlights that I hope the children will treasure. From exciting outings to giant bubbles and magic potions, cute animals, games and plenty of outdoor action – there was lots to enjoy.
We have been working hard behind the scenes at TASC to improve the care we offer and were delighted when a summer inspection by the Care Inspectorate gave us a hugely improved rating.
We thank parents for their support when we struggled with some mostly covid-related staffing issues earlier this term and for all your help with keeping TASC as safe as possible during the pandemic. This winter term we have added great new staff to our team and been joined by 2 fabulous students. We look forward to further developing our team to include enthusiastic volunteers and quality additional support joining the team in 2022.
In December we have been preparing for Christmas with lots of lovely Christmas crafts. We had hoped to take the Friday group on a trip out on the last day but to be cautious we opted for a pizza party instead – I think a lot of fun was had!
See below for some photos from these past few weeks. We hope that whatever has been going on in the news and the wider world, TASC clubs can be a haven and a happy place for each child that we care for. Where issues arrive I hope we have dealt with them carefully and sensitively and we appreciate open communication with all our families. Please keep in touch with us and speak to us about any concerns you may have. Though you may be still unable to come in and join us due to protective covid measures, and we may need to keep the warmth and children in – our “door is always open”!
We wish everyone in the TASC family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we hope for a brighter 2022!
from Becky and the TASC team
